I am sure that the reason you work in your chosen profession is because you are passionate about the work you do. You no doubt have spent a lot of time and money on your training and continue to spend money in your business: ongoing education, publications, supervision, your own treatment etc.
Loving the work you do and being a passionate and talented professional is not enough to ensure that you will have a successful practice. By successful I mean having and sustaining; a constant flow of referrals, efficient and effective business systems and structures in place, profitability etc, all aspects that will ensure that you can get on with the practice of your profession with a degree of sustainability and solidity that ensures that you don't burn out and can maintain a living.
We will look at ways of building and sustaining an ideal private practice, whatever that may mean to you. One that is profitable and personally satisfying.
This requires not only knowing what to do, but more importantly, knowing who to be. This requires taking a look at your thoughts, ideas, feelings and behaviors and assessing what helps and what hinders you in creating your ideal private practice.
My aim is to increase your business awareness and to provide information and an outline to enable you to form that strong structure that from within, you can pursue your work.
There are several aspects, taken from various sources that are proven to create a successful practice:
- Being passionate about what you do
- Basing a business around what you love
- Having good support around you. Personal and professional
- Having an entrepreneurial mindset, (this can be a learned skill)
- Having a business and marketing plan, (know where you are going and what to do to get there)
- Self care for sustainability, (work life balance)
- Being Business savvy
- Your mindset, (law of attraction, abundance thinking)
- Keeping ahead of trends
- Establishing a niche
- Maintaining good systems
- Creating multiple streams of income
All this and more will be covered in the workshop
Take a Moment to Consider
Do you believe that working in a helping profession precludes you from combining personal satisfaction with financial success?
We have stereotypes about what it means to be a successful business person that are often negative. As private practitioners, and mostly healers in some way, we are working with relationships and can be afraid that if we are paying too much attention to business it makes us cold/hard or non therapeutic.
Learning to love operating your business ultimately will allow you to be a better therapist and to work at your craft with a higher level of integrity.
To be successful, I believe we need to have the mindset of an entrepreneur, which can be learnt.
We need to learn step by step strategies for marketing, finance and administration and we need to know how to polish our practice to make it shine.
To build a strong practice we need sufficient support underneath us, as a business owner to keep us emotionally level, thinking straight and feeling capable.
Your foundation is your ability to think like a business person, staying focused, optimistic and resolute. We do this by adopting an entrepreneurial mindset.
We need to build an ideal private practice in our own way by choosing from many different effective strategies.
Take your practice from ordinary to extraordinary by putting on finishing touches that make a big impact on clients.
Come and learn all of these aspects of practice and more in a supportive, collaborative and confidential environment and make your practice into one you love.
